Rama Yahad Camp
Mahane Rama Yahad – this is a children's jewish camp. The first camp was held in Zvenigorod in 1992 year, and his story began even earlier. A whole year of preparation for the camp: seminars are held, Madrich meetings, our chanikhs visit Jewish communities in their cities. How does this happen, can be seen in the group. Every year, Rama Yahad takes place in different places and remains in the heart of everyone for life.
Camp history
Mahane Rama Yahad was created thanks to the organization of the Midreshet Yerushalayim (Midreshet Yerushalayim) - in Israel it is one of the departments of a large academic institute.
Solomon Shekhter Institute "Mahon Shekhter" belongs to the conservative movement of Judaism.
The camp was created for Jewish children, which in 1991 year became students of Jewish schools in Chernivtsi, Lviv, Berdicheva, Odessa, Kyiv, (Ukraine), Moscow, (Russia), Baku, (Azerbaijan), Liepae, Daugavpilsa, (Latvia), for children to get to know each other, as well as with Israeli madrichs and students of the Shekhter Institute.
What was the theme and purpose of the camp?
Theme of the first Camp was "Creations of the World and Man". The leadership of the Midreshet Yerushalayim considered, that it is important for children to live together for a certain period of time and learn to perceive themselves as part of the Jewish people, get to know its values and traditions – this was the main purpose of the camp. Then no one knew, will this camp be repeated every year, will it be a one-off.
But the results of this camp exceeded everyone's expectations. – as sponsors, who came to see, what is happening in this first camp, and the leadership of Midreshet Yerushalayim from the institute. Schechter, as well as the children themselves and their parents.
The children returned home full of impressions., thoughts, ideas, desire to know your roots, to know the traditions and ourselves, as part of the Jewish people.
Since then it has become a good tradition., Rama Yadah hosts children every summer. The scope of knowledge and the level are expanding, getting deeper. Our children today want and are ready to learn serious things., talk about them, argue, disagree. It seems to me, this is the most important – understand yourself, your place in this world, their belonging to the Jewish people, values that are important to you.
Purpose of Midreshet Jerusalem – so that every child, who visited at least once in our camp, never forgot, that he is Jewish, although his path in this life can be very different.
