The Shabbaton of our community began in a truly warm and family way. The first day gave us a joint walk, sincere conversations and a feeling of closeness to each other. In the evening, we lit Hanukkah candles – as a symbol of light, which we carry together, – and smoothly transitioned to the celebration of Shabbat

Of course, not without adventures

Several participants were led in the wrong direction, but then our director appeared on the scene – the real hero of Shabbaton. He went to help without hesitation and literally pulled the lost from the field, having proved, that care and responsibility in our community – not just words.

It is from such moments that the warmest memories are made: candle light, shared Shabbat and feeling, that there are always people around, who will support in any situation

The Shabbaton of our community has become a special space for depth, dialogue and discoveries. It was an atmospheric Shabbat, during which we talked a lot about community life, our role in it and everyone's responsibility for the common future.

We also held a beit midrash in a restaurant format: at the tables, in a warm atmosphere, discussed Hanukkah texts, philosophized and shared thoughts on a wide variety of topics.

And the most exciting moment was the evening event, where each of us met our childhood version. We listened, were surprised, recognized each other anew and became closer. It is in such moments that a real community is born – alive, warm and filled with light
